Young performer headshots, explained

What do child actor headshots need to look like?

Natural and current. Agencies and casting want to see what your child looks like now, with no heavy styling or make-up. Simple clothes, a real smile and a calmer alternative are all a young performer needs.

Does a parent stay for the session?

Yes, always. A parent or guardian stays with the young performer for the whole session. The booking is made in the parent's name and the gallery is sent to the parent.

How often should young performers update their headshots?

Whenever they no longer look like their photo, which for children can be every six to twelve months. Agencies usually ask for new photographs after a growth spurt, a haircut or lost teeth.

What should they wear?

Two plain tops in colours that suit them, nothing with logos or slogans. Comfortable clothes they like wearing help them relax.

How do you keep children relaxed?

Short bursts, breaks when needed, and a photographer who works with young performers. Sixty minutes is long enough for two looks without anyone getting tired.

Who receives the photos?

The parent or guardian who booked. The gallery opens on lemon.gallery within 48 hours.
