Spotlight headshots, explained
How many photos should I put on Spotlight?
Four or five, which is what Spotlight recommends, even though it allows up to 15. Lead with your strongest current headshot, then add range: a stiller theatrical look, a warmer commercial one, and something close to the parts you are cast in.
Which session gives the best Spotlight photos?
Theatrical for most actors: 90 minutes, up to three looks and three retouched images, enough for a main photo and two gallery images. Choose commercial if most of your work is screen and adverts.
Do I credit the photographer on Spotlight?
Yes. Add the photographer's name in the photo credit when you upload, and keep the image itself free of watermarks or text. Your photographer's name is on your lemon.gallery gallery.
How often should I update my Spotlight photo?
Whenever it stops looking like you: a new haircut, a change in weight or age, or roughly every one to two years. Casting needs to recognise the person who walks in.
